WAVE BUBBLER
The Wave Bubbler is a deceptively simple piece but sometimes simple is exactly what you need, particularly if it is ergonomically designed. I say deceptively as it quite intricate when examined closely. The design is that of a wave, a triangular shape of sorts making it easy to hold and hard to drop (but it is still glass, so please be careful!). The name should give away what Grav was trying to achieve and yes I can attest that it does closely resemble a wave but at certain angle I can also see a whale jumping out of the ocean.
TIP: This piece may be on the smaller side, but Grav has cleverly designed it in such a way that it acts more like a larger water pipe. Expect big hits!
The glass of the entire piece is relatively thick with a flat base for stability. The base is the widest part of the Wave and it narrows substantially as you reach the mouthpiece. The water chamber within in on the roomy side and the angles within will help to eliminate splash back (just don’t overfill). The fixed fission down stem is built in and will provide moderate levels of percolation to filter and cool your smoke. 2 openings at the base of the down stem will allow your smoke to interact with the water within the chamber. A standout feature of the Wave Bubbler is the fact that you only need minimal water for full functionality with minimal splash back. My advice is to ensure that the 2 holes in the down stem sit within water and you should be good to go!
The flower bowl provided is the Grav 14mm Cup Bowl, one of Grav’s smaller bowls. Smaller bowls are not inferior and are useful for those that like less intense hits. The 14mm Cup Bowl is also the standard bowl provided with Grav Helix Pipes. There is a glass maria around the stem of the bowl enabling you to handle it safely, especially when hot. This bowl is removable and fits 14mm female connections.
Lastly, the actual mouthpiece is a raised protrusion that juts out from the top of the Wave and just like the rest of the piece is on the smaller side. Perfect for those that like a more subdued experience. Small, ergonomic, highly functional and it is made by Grav – need I say more?
