OCB Ultimate Rolling Papers 1¼ Size Papers

Out of stock

My quest to stock as many varieties of innovative rolling papers as I possibly can continues. Not sure when I will decide that I have enough, but that time is not now (and not soon)! As I have stated in many of my write ups, smoking is never ever going to be healthy for you but that does not mean that less damaging methods should not be sought. Not all rolling papers are created equal with some using substances such as bleach or chalk during processing.

Not just your average rolling paper brand, OCB has a very very long history of making paper products (of many varieties) starting in 1822 (France)! It wasn’t till 1917 that their focus shifted more towards rolling papers. Don’t need to do the math for you as I am sure you can see the 100 years that have passed since then. One year later after much work the first packet of OCB rolling papers were officially released. Ever since that time OCB has flourished and developed a stellar worldwide reputation. The brand has reached cult status in Europe.

TIP: OCB stands for Odet Cascadec Bollorè. Odet for the Odet River where the first paper mill was situated. Cascadec was the location of their second paper mill and Bollorè is the name of the family that founded it all.

OCB Ultimate Range was launch in 2015, raising the brand to a new level of prestige. Their finest and most transparent papers up till that point. They are said to be the thinnest rolling papers in the world, a revolution of sorts. Ultimate is the result of a great paper experience and cutting-edge technology. These papers are made from the flax plant and seal with always sticks natural Acacia Gum.

I sell papers made from a few different materials such as hemp, wood pulp, unbleached, ultrafine, cellulose (transparent), palm leaves, banana leaves, flax and corn. There is a reason to choose each (burn rate, taste, thickness etc) with personal preference the reason why a certain type is favoured.

Flax is a relatively uncommon material in the overly saturated rolling paper market (at the moment at least) but it is an ingredient that I am interested in. Flax is said to be a “healthier” option and are marketed towards those that take their health and well being seriously (isn’t that most of us?). As I keep mentioning over and over again, smoking is not healthy for you and never will be. But that does not mean that many brands are not constantly striving to perfect and purify their production processes to eliminate as many toxins as possible. These papers are very thin and are designed to burn very slowly. The quality of these papers can be seen when attempting to roll as these very fine papers are actually quite durable and shouldn’t rip (doesn’t hurt to be gentle though). Lastly, and for most the crucial element is the fact that papers made from flax leave behind no flavour and/or aftertaste when smoked.

TIP: Papers made from flax are silky smooth to the touch. A nice feature if you like to stroke things!
