Ooze is one of the latest brands that has made its way into my store and I plan to increase my range steadily. A practical brand that offers a very wide range of products, some from their own range and others from well-known brands already on the market. I call Ooze practical as many of the products that they tend to manufacture themselves tends to focus on storage and ways to keep your herbal paraphernalia secure. This is my first Glassware from Ooze and their practicality shines through again.

Why is it called a kettle? I am trying to come up with a clever answer, but I am stumped. Does it look like a kettle, maybe a little I guess? Names aside I have to admit I was a little impressed when first unboxing. Firstly, they are adorable. Maybe not an important requirement when most look to purchase a water pipe but it must be said. Silicone and glass have been used to manufacture this hybrid piece. Hybrid? The Kettle can be used with either dry herbal material or herbal concentrates (dabbing).
TIP: The base is a suction cup! Secure the Kettle to a surface in between uses for safety.
Let’s break it down and I mean break it down as you can completely dismantle this Bubbler into 5 components.
- Silicone outer shell, including the entire mouthpiece
- Borosilicate Thick Glass Jar (acts as water chamber when in place)
- Silicone Down Stem (14mm female port)
- Borosilicate Glass Flower Bowl (14mm male frosted port)
- Borosilicate Glass Banger (14mm male frosted port)
The complete dismantling of any water pipe is a major bonus as effective cleaning can be a little challenging to most (me included). Secured properly you can place the various components directly within your dishwasher. Please be super careful with glass portions and hand wash them if you want to be extra careful.
The down stem is quite simple with 4 percolation holes at the base to cool and filter your smoke. The included Bowl and Banger are both moderately sized and high-quality heat resistant glass. The Quartz banger has a slanted top, a thickened base and sits at a 45°degree for easy lighting with your torch. Lastly a little magnet sits to the side of the port allowing you to affix your metallic dab tools. Thanks Ooze!
TIP: Oooh this is a good one! The design of the down stem enables you to directly insert a 510 threaded vape cartridge (herbal oil) into it and vape your oil through water.
SHOULD I BE SCARED OF SILICONE?
The use of silicone in water bubblers is steadily growing due the high levels of durability offered. I will admit I was trepidatious at first as I was a glass only devotee. I have since done quite a bit of research and now carry a few pieces made from various amounts of silicone. Not all silicone is created equal and reputable brands will only ever use the safest food-grade silicone available. All silicone Bubblers at We are Lux are made with such silicone. Silicone is a synthetic polymer made by heating sand mixed with quartz. This process results in a stable polymer that is highly resistant to chemicals and heat. Rest assured you can heat your silicone water pipes and just like when you use silicone cookware to bake in your oven you should be safe. But you are still smoking so lets not pretend that will ever be healthy (sorry) but you should never overlook harm minimisation wherever you can get it!
