I have stocked Pulsar for a while now but only their herbal vaporisers. They appear to have been around for quite some time now and house over 1000 different products at their facility in North Carolina. Consummate vapers and smokers, they love to innovate and create products that exceed expectations. This is my second foray into their glass hand pipes and I decided to go for something a little out of the box.
I wanted to stock this bubbler as soon as I saw it. The knuckle duster concept may seem like a gimmick at first but don’t be fooled, this is a fully functional water bubbler. Perfectly sized to fit in the palm with 4 (rather wide) finger holes allowing you to easily hold/use this bubbler. This bubbler is made from durable, clear borosilicate glass and has a cone on one side with the protruding mouthpiece on the other. The carb is ergonomically located just beneath the mouthpiece.
As this is a bubbler you are able to add water for filtration and percolation. Due to the nature of the design only a small amount of water is required. Pulsar have crafted the Knuckle Duster to be spill-resistant but in my humble opinion this will only work if instructions are followed and a small amount of water is used as most will lay the knuckle duster on its side when not in use.
PRE-ROLLS OR PACKED CONES
A dual use bubbler in regard to the fact that you are able to either pack the bowl with herbal material (as per standard bubblers) or you can insert a pre-rolled creation of your choice directly into the bowl.
TIP: The hole at the base of the cone is on the wider side and if you like a particularly intense inhale I would recommend inserting a screen (check out the smojo screen).
First step is the water. This is how I figured out how much water to use, I added a very small amount to start and the laid the knuckle duster down on its side to ascertain the level. More water can be incrementally added but I recommend checking at each stage (lay it down) to determine when the water level is just below all exit points (mouthpiece, carb hole and cone). You may need a little practice to get it right.
When packing the bowl, I would recommend that you hold the bubbler in an upright position.
Once packed you are ready to light. Hold the mouthpiece portion to your mouth and light the bowl/pre-rolled whilst inhaling. Use the carb as needed.
Isopropyl Alcohol should be in the cleaning kit of all glassware/pipe owners. It works particularly well at dissolving resins and any built-up gunk. Alternatively, I would recommend you check out Resremover Pipe Cleaner.
