Smoking brand papers are an established (and extremely popular) brand going all the way back to 1929 (technically since 1897). Manufactured in Barcelona Spain, they are said to be one of the earliest brands to make rolling papers as well as being one of the largest manufacturers of paper in the world. They produce a vast array of their own papers whilst also producing many private label brands for other companies. Smoking Papers take sustainability and being eco-friendly seriously and have planted tree after tree to play their part, even though most of their papers are tree-free.
MAIZ??
Maiz is the Indian word for corn and yes these papers are made from corn. The only ones on the shelves at We are Lux that are made from this unique ingredient. Rolling papers made from corn are quite rare and come in a subtle shade of yellow. The flavour is a nice little hint of tasty and slightly burnt corn. An earthy, natural type of rolling paper that is known for its slow burning.
TIP: Maiz based papers tend to stay lit from start to finish whilst burning quite slowly.
The size of these papers intrigued me, the pack is quite small and almost square in shape. These papers come in the “Spanish size” – 77mm x 44mm and there are 49 leaves per pack.
