DUGOUT?
The term is used in a variety of fields (baseball, excavation, shelters) that can also be used to describe a divided storage system (case) for smoking cannabis. Generally, a portion within holds your one-hitter style pipe whilst the other side is for your herbal material. There can also be more zones (grinder, tools etc) if the Dugout is large enough. Think of it as an all-in-one kit that allows you to stash away all you need for an on-the-go smoking session.
A major benefit is the ability to pack/load your pipe almost effortlessly allowing for quick sessions with some level of discretion. Each session will be small which is why Dugouts are seen as a great option when out and about. Those that like larger sessions may want a larger set up.
TIP: Grind up your herbal material before storing within this Dugout. Loading will then be instantaneous.
COLFAX DUGOUT
Dugouts come in all manner of materials, but I am a sucker for high quality wood, so wood it is! Walnut wood has been used in this particular case, an extremely beautiful and durable wood that will age magnificently if well maintained. The Colfax is actually an upgrade to their traditional Dugout design and is considered to be the “luxury” version. A small rectangular wooden box with a lid. This lid is kept securely in place with rare earth magnets via a smart-locking system.
TIP: When the lid is in position it traps odours within. Is it 100% odour proof? No, but pretty close.
A one-hitter pipe (or “Bat-Style” pipe) is provided, a specific design that is suitable for micro-dosers and/or public smokers. Smaller, discrete hits are their speciality. A simple tube that narrows (and flattens) at the mouthpiece. Inside are 3 prongs that serve as a screen. Black glass has been used to craft this pipe. It feels quite durable in the hand and is super cool looking. This pipe slots away nicely into its own little zone, held upright and safe with little wobble.
The interior of the case is aluminium and to match the glass pipe I have chosen black as the colour. 2 areas within, one smaller for your pipe and a larger space for your herbal material. Up to 2 grams can be held at any one time. You can add straight bud or grind it up first (my recommendation). This is an easy case to keep clean and I would regularly give the inside a wipe down with some alcohol wipes. As for the wood, skip the alcohol and just use a slightly damp micro fibre cloth to wipe it down.
