The number of customers who come to see me with a sheepish look on their face as they shyly inform me of their latest breakage is quite large, and the sadness (and annoyance) they feel is understandable. Glass accessories may be preferred but they come with hazards attached, breakage and burnt/cut skin being just 2.

Ace Labz is best known for their Titan range of stems and bowls, unbreakable products made from metal. Aircraft Grade Aluminium to be precise. Food grade for safety as well as being cool-to-the-touch as compared to heated glass. Their pieces are also certified for their high standards of quality – ISO EN 9001 Certified.

TITAN STEM

The vast majority of down stems are made entirely from glass, a great option with one major disadvantage. Pretty sure I dont need to spell it out but breakage can occur regardless of the extreme care taken. Ace Labz decided to create a solution and have crafted the ultimate down stem, made from aircraft-grade aluminum that you will struggle to break. It will not shatter upon impact. The anodized, non-stick finish is not only visually appealing but very easy to clean. Speaking of cleaning, you will be hard pressed to find an easier to clean down stem (more on that below).

This is not your standard down stem regardless of the material used. 2 stems are actually provided and each unthreads into 3 individual pieces. Both stems provide a different diffuser option and there are 3 diffusers in total with this kit. A diffusion down stem offers extra filtration and cooling of your smoke as it breaks down a large smoke bubble into multiple smaller ones. More bubbles = more filtration.

TIP: Completely interchangeable but one of the stems can hold a 14mm bowl and the other can hold a 19mm one. Male flower bowls.

Aside for the 2 complete stems provided there are 3 extra threadeable portions in the box. This is where you can really play around and joint parts together to create the exact down stem that you desire. Not only can you modify the diffusion options but you can also vary the length. You can actually extend or decrease the length quite some distance ranging from 2.5″ (6.35cms) all the way to 8.5″ (21.60cms!). That’s one long down stem and I would love to see the water pipe that requires it! Now you can also see why cleaning this down stem is so easy as it breaks down into multiple shorter sections.

TIP: This down stem can be used with a water pipe or dab rig.
